ABC Radio Australia Chinese Service

This website is in Chinese and the audience is made up of people in Australia and abroad, the majority of which are based in China. This meant I needed to research how someone would want to use this website and the differing cultural perceptions the visual design might give. We conducted a focus group and online survey for tastes and ideas, as well as persona models to help determine aims and needs, we looked internally to our service goals by doing peer comparisons. Cognitively, we developed dense, information rich pages with lots or photos and icons for the audience. The most difficult thing by far was to determine the personality culture - Chinese or Australian, or both.
